You may not want to look..;o)

Below are pictures of homeschooled children engaged in a game which may result in conflict.. or so I'm told.....It is a game so potentially divisive that it has been banned in a Colorado school...

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — An elementary school has banned tag on its playground after some children complained they were harassed or chased against their will.

“It causes a lot of conflict on the playground,” said Cindy Fesgen, assistant principal of the Discovery Canyon Campus school.

Running games are still allowed as long as students don’t chase each other, she said.

The game of TAG...

Phew..no conflict. We really dodged a bullet on this day. We will have to be more careful in the future.. ;o)

The next time you have the urge to turn to someone and say "Tag! You're it!" You may want to think again...or NOT :o)

Tag, You're IT!

Galatians 6:2~

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

The past two days the two littlest boys have been fighting fevers, coughs, and colds. They have needed extra loving and snuggles which in turn can make our school day run longer. It reminded me to go back and read one of my favorite homeschooling articles by Diane Hopkins of Love to Learn.

I hope it will encourage others ...

The Baby IS The Lesson

One morning on my daily walk, I was fretting and stewing over what I could possibly do with my one-year-old during school time. I was feeling some despair with a new baby on its way. I couldn't see any end to the disruption of babies in my home school for many years to come. I was praying and scheming at the same time: I could wait until the baby's nap to teach school, I could rotate the children with baby-sitting chore away from our schoolroom, I could get a playpen, etc.: all solutions that didn't feel right--babies needs their moms!

As I walked and pondered, suddenly the Lord introduced one sentence to my mind and revolutionized my mindset entirely! "The baby IS the lesson!" I thought I was trying to teach Math, but in reality I had been teaching, day by day, how an adult values the precious gift of children. My children, by watching how I deal with the frustration of a crying baby or keep a toddler happy and busy with some of his "own" pieces while we play a math game, are soaking up "the lesson". Unfortunately, I had occasionally been teaching that the baby interrupts our learning. MORE

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Eccles. 3:1~

There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens. Eccles. 3:1~

It's that time again.. Back to School~

Sweet Pea looks shocked.. Doesn't she? Time goes by so incredibly fast. We were at one of our favorite parks the other day. It was a park we use to go with our dear friends "The S Family" and we think of you every time we are there.

It seems like yesterday I was sitting at that park on my due date with our third child. I was still very much pregnant and so desperate for time to pass. Now I realize how quickly these little ones grow.

My dear cousin Jenny 's
wonderful children were just little tots and now they are wonderful young adults. It seems as if it happened overnight.

It is so fun to watch your children grow and see them develop into godly young people. Our older children make us laugh and are so insightful and helpful. We will always be nostalgic over what they were like as young ones. Parenthood is such a blessing.

We have always encouraged our children to follow God's call on their lives. I thought it would be fun to write down where they feel led right now..

He would like to be a missionary pilot...

She would like like to teach at an orphanage in Ethiopia..
She wants to be a Homeschooling Mama..
She would love to be an artist..
He wants to be a police officer..
He would like to be a farmer..
He would like to be a firefighter...
He would like to drive stock cars...
The children feel her calling is to be an electrician...really! She has a knack for finding electrical cords where ever we go ;o)

Where ever God calls them we are blessed He has entrusted these precious little ones to our care.

At the Zoo~

We are enjoying our last week of break before we start schooling again next week. We have been planning a zoo day...we are determined not to let croc shrinking weather deter us from our fun :o)

The Zoo Train~ Oddly there were very few people at the zoo today..Well until we went into the snake house. Everyone was hanging out in there..Reptile Love? Or the fact that the snake house is air conditioned... ;o)

Phew~ It sure would be a nice day to cool off in the water park...
Ohh...Bummer..construction in August on the water park..hmmm.. interesting timing . Little guy is just acting there. I told him to give me his biggest poochy face. He looks pretty pooched I think.
So we decide to look at the monkeys and climb..Notice the 3 yo in the way back watching the monkeys through the glass. He has a little monkey obsession..

Off to the rock slide..
Wee Babe wants a turn..(we had to take his glasses off because they kept steaming up on him)
Oh, let's do that again...
And again..
And again...
After each slide he would do a little victory dance..singing "I did it. I did it. I DID it!!"
Little Sweet Pea..

Learning the ropes..

Someone is still monkey watching...
And look whose looking right back at him..

A truly blessed day.. God is GOOD!
