"Our Daddy may have only had a third grade education, but he could read the King James Bible, " says Helen Ashe. He taught us three things: 1. There is but one race-- the human race. 2. There is but one Father--the Heavenly Father. 3. Never take the last piece of bread from the table. (Helen Ashe co-founder of the Love Kitchen)"

James 1:4~

Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:4~

This was the Scripture in my devotional this morning. The Holy Spirit really impressed on my heart that this was a specific word for me today, I really didn't want to receive it, so inwardly I did the equivalent of putting my hands over my ears and said "La, la, la, la, la.." This is not for me today.

After all, today was the day Jim was going to pick up our boys' Visas. This is the EASY part of the Embassy process. You pick up the Visas and your Sealed Envelope, and you are on your way.

I called Jim at our appointed time expecting him to say all went well. I was excited to share with him that I got his and the boys tickets bumped up to tomorrow, so they would be home on Sunday rather than Monday.

It took me less than 30 seconds to realize that something was wrong. He told me that the boys' Visas were wrong and they were trying to correct the mistakes. I knew as he did that there was not much time for the Embassy closes early on Fridays. Without the Visas he and the boys would be going nowhere.

He told me to call back in 2 hours for an update..

I called. Things were still wrong. They had issued new Visas and those were full of mistakes too. By now the Embassy had been closed for 2 hours. He told me to call back again in 2 more hours...My heart sunk. I had already calculated that if they didn't get the Visas today the earliest they would be home was Wednesday.

I called, and Praise the Lord, the Visas were issued correctly. ALL is well. Jim spent 8 1/2 hours at the Embassy today. An Embassy worker and the guards worked for hours after they should have been long gone to get this done. Percy the AAI in country rep was with Jim the whole time, and a wonderful help. Talk about PERSEVERANCE!

We are so thankful that God once again stepped in and made away when there was none. Our adoption of Eben and Joel has been full of seemingly impassable obstacles. Each time God has stepped in and showed that He is in control . This is a gift. We know without a doubt these boys are meant to be in our family. God has shown us time and again. We are so thankful to Him..

And as a dear friend told me this a.m.

"Those boys must be SO special....satan doing things even in the last minute to discourage us"

To God be the Glory great things He has done!

Renee,
What a HARD day to have right at the end!!! I am so glad that the workers at the embassy were willing to continue work and fix the problems...and so glad that those boys get to come home soon! What a great gift for Jim and the boys that they can come home on Sunday (especially after a day like today).

Thank you also for updating me about our information....I breathed a BIG sigh of relief after reading your email!!!!

Can't wait for Sunday!

So excited and agree with your friend - your sons ARE SO SPECIAL! Will be praying them home, as you know how travel can be. Satan can even lurk around the airports and all. Praying hard! Can't wait to see reunited photos of the WHOLE family!
