Psalm 13:6~

It has been a LONG time! I did not mean to be off- line for the past month..It sure was a BUSY one!

I started out December with several infections and then Sweet Pea got the chicken pox!

It was a month full of blessings too!

~ Jim replaced all of the carpeting in our home with laminate flooring.
~ We celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary.
~ Sweet Pea turned 2!
~We had our first Christmas and New Year with Eben and Joel home.
~ My family came for Christmas and Jim's for New Year's. It was a wonderful and sweet time with many memories made.

Amazingly enough it was one year ago today that Eben and Joel came home from Ghana!

We are so incredibly blessed to have them as our sons. They are truly among the kindest and sweetest people I know. Their transition into our home and family has been such a precious time. I know it is not this way for everyone and it is NOT because we are such great parents or have any answers to older child adoption, but because they are two boys who desperately wanted someone to call Mom and Dad. They have worked so hard to adjust and they are truly the bravest little men I have ever met.

I thank the Lord every day that He has allowed me to be their Mama.

I will sing to the LORD,
for he has been good to me.

Psalm 13: 6

It sounds like lots of good things (as well as some challenges) have kept you away. It's nice to see you back - and congratulations on your wonderful boys.

What beautiful boys...such smiles. While you were "away" I enjoyed checking your blog and repeatedly seeing your little guy dressed for breakfast! It was a daily smile for me.

Hello, I came across your blog because of another Ghana blog. Your family is so geogeous. We have 10 children, 7 through adoption. Your boys in this post are so beautiful. Your can just see their precious spirits. It is very encouraging to read about your adoptions as we are also considering adopting older children. Thank you

Renee!! I'm not sure what to comment on first. I knew you cut your hair but you straightened it too?? Must be pg hormones! LOL.

Love the blog color changes & flowers!

Last but definitely not least, Happy 1 yr Gotchya to the boys!! Whew a whole year flew by. It's almost been a year since I've seen you and played Peek-a-Boo with Ph.

Love you and hang in there! Not much longer. Keep blogging. It brightens the world.

I have missed you!!! I'm sorry to hear about Sweet-Pea's chicken-pox. I know it's part of childhood, but...the Mommy in me hates it for the baby. I can't wait to meet Eben and Joel. They are so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful family! I love their smiles! It's like they smile from the bottom of their little hearts : ) We are watching a really cool show called "Time Warp" on Discovery, that I think your boys would LOVE! It shows in really slow motion how things happen. Anyway, miss you so much and so glad to hear from you! Love and hugs!

I've enjoyed following your blog and can't believe it has already been a year since your boys came home! Their smiles could definitely light up a dark room!

We have also been truly blessed with the adoptions of an "older" boy (~7) and 2 year old from Ethiopia. They have the most beautiful, sweet spirits and have filled our lives with joy!

Blessings to you and your family,

Time sure does fly!

Two of our children have been home two years now. Two have been home a little over a year and one came home 6 months and this Saturday our 8th child comes home from Ethiopia! How GREAT is our GOD?
It is amazing to see the life in our children come alive - as they truly understand what Jesus did for them and how He knew before time began they would be with us!

I love following your blog!

Blessings to you and your precious family!

Trusting God to work in and through each blessing He brings into our lives Renee!

Hugs and love,

I have found your blog through other blogs....if you ever have time, would you consider e-mailing me? My husband is a pastor and we want so much to adopt an older sibling group from Ethiopia, possibly, but the costs seem so prohibitive. How did you do it? Thank you!
