2Corinthians 12:9~

Ever have one of those days?

You know the one..

The one where everything seems to go wrong.

The one where you can't seem to do what is is you know you should do.

The one where everything you touch seems to spill or break or fall apart.

It's *the one* that made "Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day" a classic.

Mamas have days like that. Daddies have days like that. Kiddies have days like that.

Tickets to Australia can be very expensive..

However, being surprised by your Mama and your brother with your favorite pizza though can go a long way to knowing that bad days don't mean that you aren't loved. They don't mean that you aren't cherished. They don't mean that you have ceased to be the apple of your Mama's eye.

It seems that when we as Christians fall in our daily walks that we don't want to run to our Heavenly Father. We feel like He is judging us and is cold to us and that He is angry with us. This is a lie of the Enemy. God is eager and waiting for us to come to Him so He can tell us how precious and loved we are to Him. His love is perfect and it never fails... even when we do. He knows we are weak. He doesn't belittle us for it..He promises to be there for us.

And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 2Corinthians 12:9~

It may be a sign you are an adoptive parent when your child does a craft like this all on their own.

I think we have been fingerprinted 15 times in the last 7 years for our adoptions. Too funny!

Jim is out with the older children at a Banquet and Sweet Pea and the Wee Boy had late naps so they are keeping me company as we watch the Olympics.

Their commentary is hilarious.

We are watching the downhill skiiing

(Wee Boy is 4 and Sweet Pea is 3)

Sweet Pea: "Oh. My. Goodness. I am going to do that when I grow up. When I get big I am going to do that."

Wee Boy: "No. You're. Not."

Sweet Pea: "I'm Serious. I going to do dat."

Wee Boy. "No. You're. Not. You're freaking me out. Don't say you're serious. Why do you always say you're serious?"

Sweet Pea: "I'm Serious. I'm going to do dat."

Wee Boy: "SWEET PEA! Stop saying that. It's too dangerous. You are freaking me out. Stop freaking me out."

Sweet Pea: whispering now now.."I'm serious."

Poor Wee Boy. He has his hands full. This past summer Sweet Pea would swim all over the pool while the Wee Boy would fret from the side of the pool and warn her of the perils of water to no avail.

They crack me up. They love each other so much but are *so* different.

Proverbs 17:22~

We had a really fun and busy weekend. Our friends 4 children were with us for 3 days and we had a lot going on at church and TKD testing and just life with "16" children.

Unfortunately we have a respiratory bug running through the house. Jim, Sweet Pea, and the Little Fella were sick all weekend and this a.m. we have 4 girls with fevers, coughs, and sore throats.

They moved down to our spare room this a.m. to watch a movie and rest.

Our Sweet boys have taken up nursing duty. They seriously did this on their own without my prompting.

Laughter is good medicine, so they should all be well soon...

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Our Race~

How will we race?

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14

Try as hard as you can. Never quit..Enjoy the ride. Keep your eyes turned upward...

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13~

Rejoice in the victory you have...The victory that has been promised you.

Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 2Corinthians 2:14

And bask in the love...

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

Our lives are a race. A marathon to run for the glory of God. Each day we are running to claim the upward prize of His calling. How will we run? With Love? With Joy? With agony? With a complaining heart? Or with a purpose knowing that we are called? We are called and empowered by the maker of the Universe, the Creator of all, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Never forget that you are never alone in the race. Your Savior Jesus Christ is with you every step of the way. He is encouraging you with His Word. He is enabling you with His Church. He is guiding you with the Holy Spirit. He will never leave you or forsake you and He is with you to the uttermost.

Happy Birthday to my Dad!

Thank you Dad for dragging me out of bed every morning for school.

Thank you for teaching me to drive.

Thank you for teaching me the dangers of playing with the light switch..;o)

Thank you for all of the many things you did and sacrificed for me...

But most of all..

Thank you for being a wonderful Dad and for always loving me.

Hope your Birthday is the Best!

I love you!

Our Little Cowboy. Our Philip.

He brings me a picture the other day of him saving the Wee Boy who is being attacked by aliens and a shark (a little disturbing I know-)..

He has written across the top of the page "Filup". So, I asked him why he spelled his name this way (he usually spells it Philip) and he says, "Mama. I am sorry to tell you this but the way you spell Philip is the pretend way. THIS is the real way to spell Philip."

I tried explain to him the rules of the exceptions in phonics and he just shook his five year old little head at me with sympathy as a student who has out learned his teacher.

I told him to show his Daddy and Jim looked at it and said, "You know, he has a point."

I am turning the teaching of Fonics over to he and Filup.

RONEL'S STORY..

Please read Ronel's Story. Let it move you to pray..to act.. pray for people to choose compassion over bureaucracy.

Update on Ronel

An update on Ronel - they are still at the embassy. They are sleeping again on the cold tile floor. The good news is that they have received humanitarian parole and I believe it was only by Ernest's sheer determination and willingness to fight for their son. It should not have been that hard. They are now waiting to find a plane to fly out, because word on the street is the military is no longer offering evacuation flights for orphans. When he asked why, Ernest was told it was because of "bureaucratic red tape". I am curious to know what that means.

Keep Praying for families who were in process to bring their children home.
"Before the quake there was estimated 380,000 orphans in Haiti. 1200 of them had pending adoptions. As of yesterday 497 of those kids are home. Still a lot of families trying to get their children out of Haiti. We can't forget those families or the many orphaned children!" Kristen Howerton

Monday, Monday..

Last Night after church we had a cupcake fellowship. There were cupcakes..... lots and lots of cupcakes. There were happy people.......... lots and lots of happy people. Cupcakes have a strange effect on people.

Alas, at the end of the Fellowship.. there were still cupcakes... lots and lots of cupcakes. So, our Associate Pastor brought us a few dozen to take home with us..because well... we *are* a lot of people.

Jim declared today to be "Cupcake Monday.." You see we also have a huge cake in the fridge left over from our daughter's 14th birthday. So the cupcakes must be gone. Banished.

It was a sacrifice but we attempted to rise to the challenge..Such a submissive wife and obedient children Jim has (Ha, ha ;o)

Here they are ready to be conquered..

She signed right up for the cause..and even color coordinated.

More children bravely facing the challenge..

What mighty warriors we are raising..

At the end of the battle.

Cupcakes.... have a strange effect on people..

I hope you all had a great Monday! Didn't mean to disappear..January, was a BUSY month.

And

This Little Fella..

Has put the B in BUSY, more grey in my hair. , and some smooshy gooshy love in my heart.

*Disclaimer-All children had partaken healthy portions of their daily food groups before the cupcake massacre occurred. No children were sick or injured as a result of said massacre. Appearance of illness was for dramatic purposes..which may or may not have been encouraged by their mother.
