The Cousins~

The Cousins..

They came and spent Spring Break with us..
It was wonderful..
~Teens and Young Adults talking, laughing, watching movies, reliving memories..

~Little Ones racing about laughing, playing, learning, loving..

~Older ones reminiscing, sharing, pondering that the Lord has blessed us RICHLY..

Be strong in the LORD and,
Never give up hope,
You're going to do great things,
I already know,
God's got His hand on you so,
Don't live life in fear,
Forgive and forget,
But don't forget why you're here,
Take your time and pray,
These are the words I would say,

God has amazing plans and is going to use and is using His children in wonderful ways. It is a blessing to watch Jesus work in their hearts and in their lives..so thankful He has let me know and love each and every one of them.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6~

We are really enjoying times with our older children. It's so fun to talk with them about politics, books, music, and their thoughts. Here we are at the Winter Jam Concert with their friends.

We have some really deep conversations where they share some really incredible thoughts.

The other day our 15 year old son came downstairs for lunch (He does his school work in the loft upstairs)....

Son: "Mama, there is something I have been wondering about Poe."

Me: "OOOh, Poe was really a troubled man. There is a lot I don't understand about him."

Son: Looking puzzled then smiling.."Oh, not Edgar Allen Poe. Po from Kung Fu Panda. Do you think since he was a Panda and his father was a goose it means he was adopted..???"

Me: "Uhhhmm..it never crossed my mind."

AND we have some really funny conversations too. I'll never read Poe again without thinking of that tubby little panda Po.

Monday Magical and not so Magical Moments~

I have been reading on several Blogs lately the theme of being real. It is always hard to know what to post. I am sure in each of our lives every day is filled with the good moments, the bad moments, and the crazy moments. Hopefully the sad moments are far and few between, but they happen to us all.

I love that God put us into families as we take this journey called life. Families are amazing in that we are crazy for the people in them yet the people in them can (at times) make us crazy.

Please, don't ever let yourself become discouraged when reading Blogs, watching ahem..reality TV or books/magazines by families that appear to have it all together. It's just a slice of their life.

We all have our gifts, trials, joys, and struggles. We are all juggling many different areas of our lives. There is no one person or family that does it all.

I do like to focus on the positive. Jim once called me the Joel Osteen of the Blog World. Ha, ha. I do this with my kiddies too if I say "Be..several will chime in and say positive" (and don't think I don't notice the eye rolls)..

When I Blog I do try and focus on the things that I will remember about the day. The things that made my heart and smile and the things I want to remember. We do all have our moments. We all fail around here. I fail the most. I am blessed that God extends grace towards me and that Jim and the children do too.

We had a very blessed day though I will share our school day got off to a less than stellar start..

-I had one dear child who couldn't find his pencil. Obviously a family of beavers are living somewhere in this house as I buy gobs of pencils and they disappear never to be seen again.
-Another dear child couldn't find his reading book..which was eventually found..on the shelf..where. it..belonged.
-I simultaneously had one child in tears over missing 4 math problems while another was breaking their arm patting themselves on the back for "only" missing 4 math problems.. Balance, people..
-One child had a time to clean the baseboards as they would repeatedly start playing each time I left the room-baseboards come in handy when you don't have a blackboard to clean :o).

Eventually we found our groove and we had a productive day.
And we had many, many many sweet moments of love and laughter..grace and forgivness..joy and peace.

Some of my favorite Moments..

Our 5 yo bringing me leaves and then asking me to bend down so he could put them in my hair, so I could be beautiful.

My Sweet girl who brought her treasures to me. If we could all see the flowers instead of the weeds.

Our Sweet Neighbor brought us this amazing doll house. He spoke through broken English to share with us that his wife saw it in an neighboring city and had to get if for us because of all of our children. Isn't that the sweetest thing?

Our funny boys who became Ninjas via cloth napkins at the table and brought much hilarity and laughter to our dinner table.

I will also hold in my heart our little baseboard cleaner running up with a huge hug and an "I love you, Mama." after dinner just because.

Our dds making doll clothes for Sweet Pea's dolls to go into the doll house. Apparently the doll clothes we once owned have run off with the pencils.

Finally, our Sweet Pea heading up the stairs to bed and singing "Daddy is cute, Daddy is cute.."

Thank you Lord for our family and for your precious grace.

1Corinthians 15:58~

Every day should have..

Time to work...

Time to pray..

Time to smile..

Time to nourish..

Time to read..

Time to play..

Time to help a brother..

Time to laugh..

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
